Welcome to Binford Road at Rush Creek Open Space Preserve with free camping and vehicle storage provided by Marin County tax payers.
The law is not being enforced and the result is on-going criminal activity, unsanitary and unsafe living conditions, cats and dogs being injured or killed and major pollution of our wetlands.
This site is dedicated to documenting the destruction of the Rush Creek Open Space & Waterfowl Preserve. This has been going on for years and Marin County has made little progress on this issue.
The problem continues to grow every day…
See the following for a video of the situation and please sign the petition if you agree this needless destruction of our Wetlands must cease now!
The Petition
We, the concerned citizens of Marin County, urgently appeal to the Board of Supervisors to take immediate action regarding the pressing issue of the Binford RV encampment. This persistent problem, which has plagued our community for over a decade, is exacerbating environmental degradation, compromising public safety, and threatening the delicate balance of our cherished wetlands. We implore you to make a resolute decision to relocate the encampment and safeguard the future of our environment…
IF YOU WANT TO HELP
File a complaint with CALTIP – Californians Turn in Poachers and Polluters. This is a terrible pollution violation. Goto this site to file your complaint!
Start by Emailing Eric Lucan at [email protected] or use this email template. Please voice your displeasure with people living in inhumane conditions and the wetlands suffering as a result. The RVs need to be relocated to the former Honor Farm or back to the Civic Center where the Supervisors drove them out and they went to Binford Road. Let him know we appreciate the Sheriff’s Dept removing the abandoned cars/RVs, however there is much more work to do with “personal items” junk/hoarding spilling into the wetlands.
Eric wants to “Grandfather” the existing RVs at Binford Rd. This is not acceptable. Moreover, Binford Rd is being used as a free storage facility for boats, jet ski’s, a Harley Davidson and a fully restored expensive Chevy Nova etc. The RV residents are taking advantage of the situation.
Email Clint Garrett head of Fish and Wildlife, [email protected] or use this email template. They are not repairing the fences and are allowing RV residents to have patio furniture, trash and human waste go into the wetlands. The residents are also allowing dogs to go into the wetlands and disturb wildlife. The residents have also used the wetlands as a driving range for golf practice. Greg said he would have the fences repaired and wardens out there. So far he has done nothing.
Email Sheriff Scardina [email protected] ask him to enforce the law and help us protect our wetlands!
